Pilot Logbook · logbook.landing.aero and its apps · updated 20 October 2026
In short
Your logbook belongs to you. It is kept private, used only to run your logbook, never sold, never shown to anyone else and never used for advertising. There is no tracking and no analytics.
What is kept
- Your sign-in: your email address, to let you in with a one-time code. There is no password.
- Your logbook: the flights, people, aircraft, airports, notes and settings you enter or import, and the photos and documents (such as OFP PDFs) you attach.
- Invite requests sent from this website: the name, email and message you write, to answer you.
Where it is kept
On a private server (OVHcloud) that is reached only through Cloudflare's encrypted tunnel, with each pilot in a separate database and separate storage. Photos, PDFs and every backup copy are encrypted on the server (AES-256), with the key kept apart from the data. Every connection is encrypted. Changes made without a connection stay on your device until they are sent. Nightly copies protect against loss.
Services used on your behalf
- Cloudflare: the encrypted connection to the server, sign-in (email code) and the AI that reads paper logbook pages and schedules you choose to import.
- Weather and flight data (aviationweather.gov, Iowa Environmental Mesonet, flight tracking): the logbook asks for the weather and times of your flights; only the airport, date and flight number are sent.
- Aircraft photos (Planespotters.net, Wikimedia Commons): shown from their servers, so your device asks them for the photo of a registration.
None of them receives your logbook.
How your logbook is protected: see Security.
Your choices
- Take everything: one tap downloads your whole logbook, photos and documents included.
- Delete: ask, and your logbook and files are deleted for good.
- Correct: you can change any entry yourself; every change is kept in the flight's history.
Children
Pilot Logbook is for pilots and student pilots and is not directed at children under 13.
